Moving in to June & Summer
Well, Hello June! Boy are the months just flying by. May was quite the month over here and as I’m sitting here on June 1, I’m drinking my third coffee of the day and desperately trying to not lay down and take a nap. And to add to the torture? I just signed myself up for a 6:30 am Pilates class tomorrow morning. Yikes, I’m gonna regret that.
May was a big month of growth and change here in Nashville. I finished the office remodel after six long months of designing, project management, cleaning years and years of dust, and styling a total of 64 bookshelves. On top of this, I moved homes. How that ended up to be such horrible timing I’ll never know. But here we are at a new month with a whole new house, finished office space, and am ready to take on June!
As we start this new month, I’m of course thinking of the past month (& the other 4 that have happened already this year) and thinking ahead to what I want to accomplish, feel, and do this month. Summer officially starts June 20th even though after Memorial Day Weekend I think we’re all in Summer mode. I feel like a lot of the world nowadays is saying to slow down, find peace, comfort, stop the hustle, etc. As Summer is coming to it’s official start, I’m taking the opposite approach. Controversial, I know. But after reflecting on these months, I’m finding a disappointment for the things I haven’t done. And while I'll give myself grace with all the hustle and bustle that’s been going on, I also find I didn’t buy enough tulips this spring, the flower pots are yet to be filled, I haven’t made it to a concert, eaten on nearly enough patios, and my routines have gone completely out the window. So while everyone is settling into their Summer agendas and itineraries, I’m ready to hit the ground running and make this the best summer yet.
Everybody is in different seasons and are using this summer differently and that’s just fine by me! But for me, I’m ready to make the very most of it in my personal life, my work life, and in my relationships. I’m craving a weekend laying by the pool followed by a nice dinner overlooking the ocean. I’m ready for early morning walks before the summer heat sets in, working hard to chase my dreams, and accomplishing some big goals in between. And between all of that, I’ve gotta hit some of the must-do’s here in Nashville while I’m at it. So as I’m planning my month and setting my intentions, I’m penciling in some big events. If you’re local, add them to your list. And if not, now is the time to make a trip for these! I’ll share some of the major ones below:
CMA Fest - 5th-8th - I mean this speaks for itself. You’ve gotta be there!
Nashville Sounds baseball games - check their schedule to see when they’re playing! I hope to make it to a bunch of these!
Riley Green in Franklin - June 19th - This is one I won’t be missing this month.
First Friday Franklin Art Crawl - June 6th
Crawfish Festival at Arrington Vineyards - June 14th
These are a few of the things I’ve got on my radar this month!! And now I’m off to schedule out my month, set some goals, and plan the best summer ever. Hope yours is filled with fun and all the other things you’ve got on your list.
