Goodbye July, Hello August!
Hello August! I’m sad to see Summer moving along so quickly but I’m also starting to think about Fall and getting all sorts of excited for all things pumpkin, football, and of course, my birthday! But while I’ve got pumpkin spice on the brain, I’m also trying to savor every moment Summer has to offer. It’s bloody hot outside and here in Tennessee, that’s not going anywhere anytime soon.
I spent the last week in Florida in 30A! This was a first from me coming from the west. It was lovely! The beaches definitely put California beaches to shame (Sorry CA!) and the week of pooling, beaching, eating, & shopping was just what the doctor ordered. I finished four books while I was there which was more than I’ve read in a long time. There’s nothing than a light read by the pool, don’t ya think? And as for August, I’ve got another Florida trip planned (who is she?!), lots more days by my pool, and I still haven’t had nearly enough ice cream to satisfy my summer quota.

August 8–9 – Tomato Art Fest in East Nashville's Five Points neighborhood: an arts‑and‑culture celebration with food, parades, installations, and tomato‑themed fun
(ongoing through 31) – Grand Ole Opry 100th Anniversary Celebration: multiple special shows and tribute events honoring the Opry’s centennial year
August 31 – Borchetta Bourbon Music City Grand Prix: season‑finale IndyCar and INDY NXT event at Nashville Superspeedway over Labor Day weekend
through August 31 – Enchanted Castles at Cheekwood: This summer, Cheekwood’s gardens will be transformed into a fantastical realm
August 20–21 – Teddy Swims brings soulful pop–soul vibes to Ascend Amphitheater on back‑to‑back nights.
